Pre-Summit Workshops

Join us one day early on April 17th and take a deep dive into one of two topics during one of our full-day Pre-Summit Workshops.
*Please Note: These are not included as part of your general Summit registration.

Workshop A

Bob Kelleher - Author/Speaker/Founder | The Employee Engagement Group
Meg Anderson - Program Director | The Employee Engagement Group

A Change Management Hands-On Laboratory:
Engagement During Times of Change

In this unique and engaging hands-on course, we will explore the works and models of noted Change Management experts including John Kotter, William Bridges, Bruce Tuckman, and even Walt Disney. Using change management models like the Tuckman Change Curve, the Bridges model of Transitions, and Disney's Toy Story, we will walk through how change impacts our lives, and the lives of your employees.

Change is an inevitable and often challenging aspect of personal and organizational development. We will use a variety of change models and case studies, including diving into the narrative (and videos) of Toy Story 3, where you will gain valuable insights into how to navigate, lead, and implement change effectively.

This workshop combines the magic of storytelling with the rigor of change management theory to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to navigate and lead change successfully. Through the unforgettable journey of prior change management gurus, including Woody, Buzz, and their friends, you will gain a fresh perspective on the challenges and opportunities that change brings and develop the tools to become an effective change agent yourself.

Workshop B

Anthony Fasano - President and CEO | Engineering Management Institute

An Interactive Workshop:
How to Build Career Paths to Help Recruit, Develop, and Retain Top AEC Talent

Most AEC professionals desire to always see their career growth opportunities in their careers - however, most AEC firms don’t have clear career pathways, causing their employees to feel like they are feverishly rowing a canoe into a fog. They are asked to work long and hard but can’t see where they are headed.

Anthony Fasano, P.E. of the Engineering Management Institute has worked with top ENR firms to help them build clear career paths and subsequently roles, responsibilities, and job descriptions that excite AEC professionals. Fasano leans on a proven 3 step process to help firms get clear on all their career pathways and opportunities across their organization.

In this interactive workshop, Fasano, will walk you through the 3 steps and help you prepare a preliminary design of your firm's career paths. This workshop is for AEC professionals responsible for building (or improving) their firm’s career pathways. Attendees will not leave with information; they will leave with a working plan that they can bring back to their leadership.

*Pre-Summit Workshop Registration is separate from General Registration

“The pre-conference workshop was worth gold. So much great information was shared in a very dynamic way… especially given the length of the workshop.
