Towers & Watson: Employee Engagement Statistics

Towers & Watson reports that companies with high levels of employee engagement, operating income improved by 19% over 12 months while, in companies with low levels of engagement declined by 33%. Their research shows that out of all organizational charcteristics, an understanding of some key topics have the greatest influence on employee engagement levels. These include:

• Leadership

• Strategic direction of the organization

 • Genuine interest in the employee’s well-being

• Recognition

• Clear communication of company purpose & direction

• Respect
