In December’s issue of HBR, “The One Thing You Must Get Right When Building A Brand” correlates to our message of the importance of branding, and employee engagement. While the article focuses on customer engagement, the message resides with employee engagement-the fundamentals are the same.
Brands should capitalize on new media possibilities built on 4 basic principles:
- Offering and communicating a clear promise
- Building trust by delivering on that promise
- Continuous improvement
- Innovation beyond the norm
As Kelleher elaborates on his YouTube video, “People want to work for a great employer but most companies do not focus on internal branding. Companies have a responsibility to brand their unique features of who they are to their employees as well to the outside world. Determine your key differentiators, and build that into your communication branding strategy internally as well as externally.”
