HBR.org Article, “What’s Your Social Media Strategy?”

By EEngagement

In the November 2010 Harvard Business Review edition, , Soumitra Dutta published an article, “What’s Your Social Media Strategy?”Dutta stresses the importance of leaders embracing social media for 3 reasons:

1.)It is a low-cost and highly accessible manner to build your brand (internally & externally)

2.)Allows for instant employee engagement

3.) Provides an opportunity to learn from instant information and candid feedback

In order social media to be effective, you need to form a strategy, articulate goals, targeted audience, and available resources.  Leaders that leverage social media in a powerful and effective way can help them stand apart from their competitors and engage employees, especially Generation Y and Millennials.
