Research on achievement has determined that it is not the   characteristics of a person that makes them successful, but their actions. HBR identifies 9 thingsthat successful individuals practice:

  • Be Specific
  • Seize the Moment to Act on Your Goals
  • Check and Know Your Progress Regularly
  • Be a Realistic Optimist
  • Focus on Getting Better (as opposed to being good)
  • Possess Grit
  • Have Strong Will Power
  • Don’t Tempt Fate
  • Focus on What You Will Do (not the negative)
