Ditch the Chocolate: Show Your Employees Some Love on Valentine’s (While Making them Accountable)

By EEngagement

What can you do as a leader to show ’em a little love this Valentine’s? Of course I am going to suggest something with engagement and performance,
Introduce the “3 Circles” or as TEEG named it: Needs Domain.

Purpose: To have a comfortable, upfront conversation about what your employee feels they are good at, what they like to do and what has to get done. You are more likely to have an engaged employee the more you can 0verlap these circles.  You have an opportunity how their strengths, weaknesses, passions and skills lie. Don’t always assume this matches up. Ever know someone who was awful at something, but enjoyed it nonetheless? I would bet money you also exceed at some things you can’t stand.

The simplest definition of employee engagement?
An employee that would go “through a wall for you. Of course the employer has to be invested, committed and ensuring they create a work culture where you have that opportunity.

To feel engaged, most people need some of each circle in their life.
