  • Employee engagement is not about money, benefits or things: You cannot buy employee engagement long term with financial rewards.  Engagement should encompass a mutual commitment between employer and employee. As Kelleher explains, This commitment is built through a culture of trust, open communication, shared vision and goals, and a deep sense that “we’re in this together”
  • Money, Benefits, and things impace the engagement equation: If employees feel their pay and benefits are not fair, this can create disengagement.
