Malcom Gladwell is the author of Blink, The Tipping Point, Outliers and is a staff writer for The New  Times. Below are some of Gladwell’s most insightful theories:

  •  Law of the Few: How a disproportionate few affects so many-these are individuals who can massively spread, or influence an idea, action or beliefs
  • Connectors: People with an extraordinary ability to connect with people and idea (example: former President Bill Clinton)

  • Salesmen: Those with charisma and passion and are in-demand to be listened to and follow (example: Ashtun Kucher/Twitter)
  • The Stickiness Factor: Why some ideas stick and stay
  • The Power of Context: We are sensitive and receptive to encompassing influences
  • Analysis Paralysis: Too much information is worse than too little-Gladwell suggests to be frugal with information-learn when enough information has been received
  • The Secret of Snap Decisions: Ever say something before you have a chance to think it through? Gladwell points out when this happens, it doesn’t always truly reflect who we really are.
  • The Matthew Effect: Talent is one thing, luck is another: Gladwell recognizes there are many variables correlated with an individuals’ success-more than we care to admit or even know
  • The Delicate Art of Mind Reading: Why a face can say more than words can
  • The Trouble with Geniuses: IQ is Not enough to succeed (example: Mark Zuckerberg, “I’m trying to make the world a more open place by helping people connect and share”)
